Ch Oatland Chieftan ET Chocolate dog 15 May 1999 – 3/12/2012 Oatland Hawkeye x Ch Oatland Blue Jean Chief was the first male stud dog we kept. He excelled in the show ring, with a best in show at a kelpie specialty, as well as runner up in show, best in group and a number of runner up in groups at All Breeds shows. Winner of Best in Show at NSW Kelpie Club show September 2001. Also won best stifle and best open in show at the above mentioned show. A little bit of Chief lives on in most of my dogs. Ch Callicoma Orion ET Chocolate dog 24 Jan 2003 – 5/6/2013 Ch Oatland Chieftan ET x Ch Spectre Blacklock Bundy is a medium sized, strong dog with a lovely broad masculine head. He is an Australian Champion and also has his ET (Endurance Test) title. He was hip and elbow scored at almost 6 years of age and has 3:3 hips and 0:0 elbows. Bundy is an experienced worker – he has worked on an Angus Cattle property for years, as well as being a show and stud dog. He had sired two litters for Wilsonia kelpies before coming back and a bitch from that litter (Wilsonia Outback Katie) won Runner Up to Best in the Working Dog Group at 7 months old. Ch Oatland Pipistrelle CD Blue bitch 10 Aug 1994 – 25 Jan 2006 Ch Oatland Rockateer x Ch Oatland Blue Jean Pippin was my first pedigree kelpie. I was finally able to show my dog as well as compete in obedience. Despite me knowing nothing about showing dogs Pip won many classes in group and a runner up to best in group. She had her CD (companion dog) title and gained two passes in open obedience (3 needed for CDX title) She competed in tracking trials, and was a regular performer in local obedience displays. Despite being the mother to only one litter she is grandmother or great grandmother or great grand mother to most of my dogs. As Pippin got older she had heart problems, and got congestive heart failure aged nearly 12. Ch Callicoma Cosmic Chocolate bitch 8/11/2001 – 30 Oct 2006 Ch Oatland Chieftan ET x Ch Callicoma Leica ET HT Cosmic was a real sweetie – everyone that met her fell in love with her, and many friends (and even my vet) asked whether they could have her if for any reason I no longer wanted her. Winner of best headed baby at the Ausralian Kelpie Club of NSW show in 2002. Unfortunately Cosmic shattered her foot in Nov ’03 and was never then sound enough to continue showing or to do agility, or any of the dogs sports we love. It was operated on and she was in no pain, but it was not the correct shape anymore. Cosmic was one of those dogs that would put up with anything, so she was usually chosen, out of all my dogs, to wear a costume at our obedience club Christmas party. Below you can see her dressed as Elvis and also in a one piece swimming costume, a swim ring and swimming goggles. Not once did she try to take them off! It was one of the saddest moments when she was diagnosed with lymphoma at the age of five. Winner of best headed bitch, champion headed kelpie and best blue or fawn at Australian Kelpie Club of NSW specialty show September 1999. Runner up best headed bitch at Australian Kelpie Club of NSW specialty show April 2000. Winner of best “any other colour” at Australian Kelpie Club of NSW specialty show September 2000. Callicoma The Tempest ADM ADO JDM JDO SD SPDX GDX ET PT Blue bitch 23 Nov 2000 – 11/11/11 Ch Callicoma Ricoh x Ch Oatland Vespadelus First qualification (and first place in novice jumpers) at the age of 18 months and two weeks, ie 2 weeks after she was old enough to trial. Tempo was been a joy to trial, and has her ADM (Agility Dog Masters), JDM (Jumping Dog Masters), ET (Endurance), PT (Pre Trial Test in sheep herding), JDO (Jumping Dog Open), ADO (Agility Dog Open), GDX (Gamblers Dog Excellent), SPDX (Strategic Pairs Dog Excellent), SD (Snooker Dog) and AAD (Australian Agility Dog) titles. She is a natural at her sheep work. Tempo was winner of Novice Agility at the 2004 National Agility titles (and placed 1st, 1st and 2nd at the three lead up heats). She also won Masters Jumping at the Qld State Agility titles in June 2004 (and came second in open). She got her 7 masters jumpers passes in 7 straight trials over a period of three weeks and they included five first places, and one second place. Tempo has been officially temperament tested by accredited Dogs NSW and NSW Dept of Local Govt temperament testers. Tempo won the Grafton Dog Obedience Club Agility trialler of the year award in 2006 and 2007 See Tempo doing an agility demonstration at age 10. Ch Callicoma Leica ET HT Chocolate bitch 10/6/1999 – 10/2/2014 Ch Spectre The Barb x Ch Oatland Pipistrelle CD Has excelled in the show ring – has won class in group in all classes. Winner of Junior in Show at Australian Kelpie Club of NSW speciality show in September 2000, Aust Bred bitch and best gaited in April 2001. Winner of best topline, 2nd in best gaited, 2nd in Aust Bred Bitch March 2002 Leica has been hip scored (3:4) and elbow scored (0:0). Completed her ET (endurance trial) in July 2001 – vets commented on her high level of fitness as her temperature and pulse rate decreased at each vet check. In her old age she slowed down a lot – but was still going well at almost 15. Sadly kennel cough went through our dog club and hit some of my dogs including Leica. They always say it is old dogs and puppies that are most at risk, and it really took its toll on her. Her body could not cope with any more 🙁 Best Junior in the kelpie show Pregnant – 1 week to go! Dual Ch (T) Callicoma Capella CDX RA ADM ADO JDM JDO SPDM SDX GDM ET HT Chocolate bitch 24/1/2003 – 27/11/2016 Ch Oatland Chieftan ET x Ch Spectre Blacklock Capella is a dual champion – having attained her championship title in both the show ring and in tracking. She became an Australian Show Champion at the age of 14 months and became a Tracking Champion at the age of of 31 months, making her one of the few dual champion kelpies in Australia. She also competes in obedience, agility and herding and has her CDX (Companion Dog Excellent), RA (Rally Advanced), ADX (Agility Dog Excellent), JDM (Jumping Dog Masters), ADO (Agility Dog Open), JDO (Jumping Dog Open), GDM (Gamblers Dog Masters), SPDM (Strategic Pairs Dog Masters), Snooker Dog Excellent (SDX), HT (Herding Test), ET (Endurance Test) titles. Capella lived the first 9 years of her life with a lovely lady in Sydney, but came back to me when her owner became ill. I continued trialling her and finished off all the titles she was half way through (RA, SPDM, GDM and SDX). It was nice to finish what her previous owner had started. We also showed together a few times, winning best super veteran in show more than a few times. Capella succumbed to old age and had a stroke aged almost 14 🙁 6 months old 12 months old 19 months When Capella was 9 years old the sport of Rally Obedience started – she easily got her novice title almost 10 years old Getting her Strategic Pairs Dog Masters title at almost 11 years old Getting her Rally Advanced titled at almost 11 years old. She is beautifully put together, has excellent movement, and has done well in the show ring, beating best in group winners for best of breed at 10 months of age. Linne has been hip and elbow scored, with excellent results. Her hips scored 0:2 and her elbows 0:0 . She is an Australian Champion and also has her ET (Endurance Test) title and HT (Herding Tested) title. Linne has also been officially temperament tested by accredited Dogs NSW and NSW Dept Local Govt temperament testers.
